Upconversion

Upconversion means to convert a lower resolution to a higher resolution picture. It is upconverted by increasing the number of pixels, frame rate or by changing scanning format from an 'i' interlaced to a 'p' progressive scanned picture.

V-Chip

The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has adopted rules requiring all television sets with picture screens 33 centimeters (13 inches) or larger to be equipped with features to block the display of television programming based upon its rating. This technology is known as the "V-Chip." The V-Chip reads information encoded in the rated program and blocks programs from the set based upon the rating selected by the parent. Viewing angle, What is TV viewing angle, best TV viewing angle

Viewing angle of a TV

Viewing angle means how far to the left or right you can sit in front of the TV and still see a reasonably good picture. If you are sitting straight in front, you are sitting at Zero degrees and that is the best TV viewing angle. As you go right or left the angle increases to 90 degrees when you reach a point parallel to the TV. Most TV manufacturers specify the total viewing angle, that is from the left extreme to the right extreme. The maximum possible in such a case will be 180 degrees, that is 90 +90. The best viewing angle will be straight in front of the TV and you should try to plan your seating as straight as possible.
