Explanation of TV words starting with the letter 'H'
HDCP TV input
HDCP stands for 'High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection', but it is sometimes wrongly referred to as 'High-Definition Copyright Protection'.
It is a digital copyright protection system developed by Intel Corporation. High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) comes with this protection. The system stops HDCP-encrypted content from being played on devices that do not support HDCP.
HDMI full form
The full form of HDMI is 'High Definition Multimedia Interface' and is the best type of connection available so far for high quality TV inputs like HDTV and 4K content. A picture of the 2 plugs at the end of an HDMI cable is shown in the picture here.

HDMI CEC meaning
The meaning of HDMI CEC is a standard implemented by Consumer Electronics Control for remote control operating systems implemented on HDMI connected systems. Upto 10 HDMI connected components can be operated from a single remote control. To quote from the HDMI.org site
"Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) provides for integrated, 'one-touch' commands across multiple linked components. When enabled by the manufacturer, CEC allows system-wide behaviors like one-touch play or one-touch record, where pressing a single button on your remote launches a series of coordinated commands."
The HDMI CEC is implemented by different manufacturers and they have special names like 'SimpLink' by LG, 'EZ-Sync' by Panasonic, 'Anynet+' by Samsung, 'Theatre Sync' by Sony BRAVIA, 'CE LINK' by Toshiba, etc.
High Definition TV or HDTV has a of resolution of 1920x1080. The figure represents the total number of pixels horizontally into the number of pixels vertically. This is called the Native Resolution of the TV - for example real or Full HD-TV has 1920 horizontal and 1080vertical pixels(1920x1080). HD Ready TV has resolution of 1280x720 or 1,366x768. In Digital Camera talk, it would be 2.07 MegaPixel for full HDTV and 0.92 MegaPixel for HD ready TV (1280x720). HDTV pixels per inch or PPi is more and this gives a much sharper picture on the screen.
HD Ready TV meaning
The term 'HD Ready' was introduced by 'The European Industry Association for Information Systems' (EICTA). 'HD ready' means the TV has the minimum screen resolution (at least 1280x720) and digital sockets (HDMI or DVI) to receive and display an HD picture. HD ready is not a High Definition TV, but it can play HDTV to give a picture quality that is near the quality of HDTV. When you want to buy a full HD-TV, make sure that the 'Native Resolution' of the TV is 1920x1080.
Hz TV meaning
Hz is the symbol for 'Hertz' and is a measurement of frequency, the number of cycles per second. Hz in TV means the number of TV picture refresh cycles there is in a TV. It is better to have a higher Hz on a TV since fast action sports scenes will not be blurred, like a fast moving football will not look blurred. To explain Hz in TV, instead of the normal 50 or 60 frames per second that the TV stations transmit, the TV shows more frames per second on the TV. The TV automatically interpolates extra frames of images inbetween to make the scene much smoother. Thus if the TV staion is transmiting at 60 Hz, higher Hz rated TV like for example a 120Hz TV, will show 120 frames of pictures per second on the TV screen.
